VP Vance promotes manufacturing jobs, redistricting at KC rally
Vice President JD Vance rallied support for manufacturing jobs and redistricting at Kansas City facility, criticizing Democrats while promoting Republican economic policies.

KANSAS CITY, MISSOURI β Vice President JD Vance emphasized bringing manufacturing jobs back to America and praised Missouri’s new congressional redistricting during a rally at a local manufacturing facility.
Speaking to an enthusiastic crowd at Milbank Manufacturing, Vance highlighted progress in manufacturing employment under President Donald Trump’s administration.
“We’ve seen the biggest growth in manufacturing employment last quarter since Trump’s first term,” Vance told the audience at the “protecting American workers” event.
Manufacturing Employment Data
According to the St. Louis Federal Reserve, Missouri had 12,596 manufacturing employees in April, representing a slight increase after steady decreases since November 2024, when the state employed 12,711 manufacturing workers.
Vance discussed the Working Families Tax Cut Act, originally called the One Big Beautiful Bill, and its role in lowering taxes for working families. He noted that all but one Democrat voted against the legislation.
Political Commentary and Redistricting
The vice president delivered sharp criticism of the Democratic Party during his remarks. “I hate to say it, ladies and gentlemen β it is not the Democratic Party that my mamaw and papaw belonged to,” Vance said. “It’s not the Democratic Party that was patriotic and believed in supporting working people. It’s the Democratic party that has been given over, unfortunately, to a lot of crazy people.”
Missouri Governor Mike Kehoe joined Vance in discussing the state’s new congressional district maps, recently approved by Missouri’s Supreme Court for use in August elections. The maps had been the subject of legal challenges over gerrymandering concerns.
Milbank Manufacturing sits within Missouri’s 5th Congressional District, where Vance encouraged attendees to support Republican candidates in the upcoming election.
Election Predictions
“We’re rooting for any good Republican in this seat,” Vance declared, adding that he was stepping into the role of “JD Vance, prophet” to predict that any Democrat who promised to care about Missouri residents would be pretending.
The event underscored the Trump administration’s focus on manufacturing as a key component of economic policy, with Vance positioning Republicans as the primary defenders of working-class interests in Missouri.
As the crowd responded enthusiastically to his remarks, Vance reinforced his message that Republicans remain the only party committed to protecting jobs and providing tax relief for working-class Missourians.
