NASHVILLE, TENNESSEE β€” The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation is accepting applications for an Intelligence Analyst position at its Nashville headquarters, focusing on cybercrime and internet crimes against children investigations.

Position Details

The open position, classified as Intelligence Analyst 1, is assigned to the TBI’s Cybercrime and Digital Evidence Unit. One vacancy is available at TBI Headquarters in Nashville, according to a job posting published by the agency on July 1, 2026.

The monthly salary range for the position is $4,562 to $6,825. The TBI listed a bachelor’s degree as the minimum educational requirement, though prior experience as an Intelligence Analyst at TBI may be substituted for the degree requirement.

Responsibilities and Training

The selected candidate will support TBI’s intelligence gathering and investigative work, specifically related to cybercrime investigations and Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) cases. The role requires strong open-source intelligence collection skills, analytical and writing ability, and familiarity with commonly used computer programs and applications.

During a two-year probationary period, the new hire will shadow experienced Criminal Intelligence Analysts and complete a formalized training process recommended by the Intelligence Community. The analyst will work under close supervision handling routine duties, database inquiries, and learning the TBI’s operating procedures and investigative techniques.

Day-to-day responsibilities include preparing standard reports and gathering information through phone, email, internet searches, and database queries. Analysts disseminate sensitive law enforcement intelligence to both internal and external customers, according to the TBI’s job posting.

On-Call and Crisis Response Requirements

Beyond standard office duties, the position carries additional demands outside regular business hours. Candidates will serve on crisis teams and be placed in a rotational on-call status for after-hours response to critical incidents, the TBI stated.

The agency is seeking candidates who demonstrate a strong work ethic, interpersonal communication skills, the ability to multitask, and attention to detail. Interested applicants can find additional information through the TBI Newsroom at tbinewsroom.com.
