NASHVILLE, TENNESSEE β The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation is hiring a Criminal Justice Information Services Support Specialist for its Tennessee Instant Check System unit, offering a monthly salary range of $4,057 to $6,099.
The position involves training criminal justice and non-criminal justice agencies on CJIS database usage and ensuring compliance with CJIS Security Policy requirements. The specialist will conduct audits to verify data accuracy, completeness, and adherence to reporting standards while managing data requests and monitoring system functionality.
Position Requirements and Qualifications
Candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university plus one year of full-time experience in a criminal justice setting. The required experience includes statistical analysis, examining criminal history and biometrics information, performing CJIS program audits and training, or criminal justice communications work.
For applicants without a bachelor’s degree, the TBI will accept qualifying criminal justice experience as a substitute on a year-for-year basis, up to a maximum of four years. This alternative pathway allows experienced professionals to qualify based on their hands-on expertise in the field.
