Former LaFollette Officer Indicted on Misconduct, Explosive Device Charges
Former LaFollette police officer Isaiah Lloyd indicted on charges involving homemade explosive device and witness coercion following TBI investigation.

LAFOLLETTE, TENNESSEE β A former LaFollette police officer was indicted Tuesday on charges related to an incident involving a homemade explosive device and misconduct while on duty, according to the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation.
Isaiah Lloyd, 34, faces charges of Official Misconduct and Coercion of a Witness following a year-long investigation that began in February 2025. The Campbell County Grand Jury returned the indictments Tuesday, and Lloyd was taken into custody on a $25,000 bond.
Investigation Details
TBI special agents launched their investigation in February 2025 after receiving information from an anonymous source about alleged misconduct involving Lloyd. The investigation revealed that while employed as an officer with the LaFollette Police Department, Lloyd was connected to an incident that occurred in January 2024.
According to the TBI, agents discovered that Lloyd concealed his identity and unlawfully entered property in LaFollette. When confronted by the property owner, Lloyd threw a homemade explosive device at the individual and fled the scene, investigators said.
Charges and Custody
The indictments charge Lloyd with one count of Official Misconduct and one count of Coercion of a Witness. He was booked into the Campbell County Jail following his arrest Tuesday.
The TBI noted that the charges and allegations are accusations of criminal conduct, not evidence. Lloyd is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt and convicted through due process of law.
Ongoing Investigation
The case represents the end of a 14-month investigation by TBI special agents into the former officer’s conduct. The investigation began more than a year after the original January 2024 incident allegedly took place.
Lloyd is no longer employed with the LaFollette Police Department. The TBI has not released additional details about the circumstances that led to the anonymous tip or the specific nature of the property where the incident allegedly occurred.
