ROSMAN, NORTH CAROLINA — The National Weather Service extended a flood advisory for portions of Transylvania County through 3:45 a.m. Monday as the stream gauge at Rosman remained above action stage despite steadily falling water levels.
At 2:34 a.m., the river gauge at Rosman measured 7.8 feet, still above the 7-foot action stage that triggers flooding concerns for the area. Weather officials reported that while rainfall had ended, elevated river levels from previous precipitation continued to impact local roadways and low-lying areas.
Roads and Infrastructure Affected
Current flooding conditions have partially inundated Hannah Ford Road, Island Ford Road, and Green Road. Nearby low-water crossings remain likely impassable, according to the weather service advisory issued at 2:37 a.m.
Local farmland and parks in the affected areas continue experiencing impacts from floodwaters, though conditions are expected to improve as river levels gradually recede.

The flood advisory specifically covers Rosman and Balsam Grove, where residents should exercise caution when traveling on local roadways. The National Weather Service emphasizes that motorists should never attempt to drive through flooded roads.
