National Weather Service Extends Flood Warnings for Mississippi River
Minor flooding is occurring along multiple Mississippi River locations as NWS extends warnings across Iowa, Illinois, and Missouri counties.

DAVENPORT, IOWA β The National Weather Service extended flood warnings for multiple locations along the Mississippi River on Friday evening, with minor flooding occurring and forecast to continue at several river gauges across Iowa, Illinois, and Missouri.
The flood warning was issued April 18 at 8:24 p.m. CDT by the NWS Quad Cities office, affecting communities along the Mississippi River from Rock Island to Gregory Landing.
Extended and Continuing Warnings
The National Weather Service extended flood warnings for the Mississippi River at Rock Island LD15, affecting Muscatine, Rock Island and Scott Counties, and at Illinois City LD16, affecting Muscatine and Rock Island Counties.
Flood warnings continue for several other river locations, including the Mississippi River at Gregory Landing affecting Clark and Hancock Counties, at New Boston LD17 affecting Mercer and Louisa Counties, and at Keithsburg affecting Mercer, Louisa, Des Moines and Henderson Counties.
Multiple River Locations Under Warning
Areas under flood warning include the Mississippi River at Burlington affecting Lee, Hancock, Des Moines and Henderson Counties, at Gladstone LD18 affecting Des Moines and Henderson Counties, and at Muscatine affecting Mercer, Muscatine, Louisa and Rock Island Counties.
The weather service reported that minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast for the Mississippi River at Gregory Landing. Officials indicated the flood warning will remain in effect until further notice.
