Born in Cincinnati, Ohio, Nikki has German and Irish ancestry. She spent most of her childhood in St. Louis, Missouri and graduated from Kirkwood High School. Glaser then graduated from the University of Kansas with a degree in English Literature.
Nikki started performing at the age of 18. She wrote most of her first jokes in college. She was a freshman. And while most people went to the cafeteria to study, she looked at people and came up with jokes. Nikki admits he judged people and tried to think what a comedian would say about these people.
In the beginning, she didn’t know how to write jokes. So she wrote from the perspective of her favorite stand-ups. It took some time for her to get her own perspective on things.
Since her college jokes, Glaser performed stand-up on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, Conan, and appeared on two seasons of Last Comic Standing. She also has her feature standup on Netflix. It premiered on October 1, 2019, with a title Bangin.
Besides stand-up, Nikki does podcasts and radio. From 2011 to 2014, she hosted a podcast with Sara Schaefer. Titled “You Had to Be There”, the podcast went on Apple podcasts. It got sponsored by Audible, a leading provider of audiobooks.
Glaser also co-hosted the podcast We Know Nothing with another comedian, Phil Hanley. Her roommate musician Anya Marina got a part in the show as well. The humorous relationship took calls from listeners and attempted to give them advice.
