Born and raised in Detroit, Michigan, Kash worked from a young age. She has five other siblings, but Kash is the oldest. Her real name is Akreisha Knight. The rapper helped support her single mother and family. And even as a young kid, she developed an interest in rapping, freestyle, and lyrics.
Kash tried a regular job and education. She enrolled at the Henry Ford College and studied business management. But after a year, she left it and worked as a dancer to support her family. While working as a dancer in the adult entertainment industry, Kash rapped and earned money from patrons of the nightclub. Some nights she made between $10,000 and $20,000 without dancing.
At that point, she left the adult dancing clubs and put the focus on her music career. Early on, she performed in local clubs and at schools. She also did some charity events in the Detroit area.
