Severe Thunderstorm Warning Issued for Northeastern Macon County
Quarter-size hail and 60 mph winds threatened northeastern Macon County as severe thunderstorms moved through rural Missouri.

MACON, MISSOURI β The National Weather Service in Pleasant Hill issued a severe thunderstorm warning for northeastern Macon County on May 4, alerting residents to dangerous weather conditions that posed immediate threats to the rural area.
The warning was issued at 9:20 PM CDT and remained in effect until 9:45 PM CDT. At the time of the alert, a severe thunderstorm was located 8 miles northwest of Clarence, or 10 miles northeast of Macon, moving east at 35 mph.
Dangerous Weather Conditions
The storm carried hazards including 60 mph wind gusts and quarter-size hail. Radar indicated these severe conditions as the system moved through the region.
Weather officials warned residents to expect hail damage to vehicles and wind damage to roofs, siding, and trees. The combination of high winds and substantial hail created potentially dangerous conditions for anyone caught outdoors.
Rural Areas Primarily Affected
