ATLANTA — A woman already facing charges for allegedly stealing luxury vehicles from Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport is now suspected of operating an illegal bar, according to Atlanta police.

The suspect, whose identity has not been released by authorities, was previously arrested in connection with multiple high-end vehicle thefts from the airport’s rental car facilities. Police officials said the woman now faces additional charges related to running an unlicensed alcohol establishment.

The illegal bar operation was discovered during an ongoing investigation into the vehicle theft ring, investigators said. Officers found the establishment operating without the proper permits or licenses required by the city of Atlanta.

Airport Vehicle Theft Investigation

The original case began when rental car companies at Hartsfield-Jackson reported multiple luxury vehicles missing from their lots. Security footage showed the suspect allegedly taking high-end cars, including BMW and Mercedes-Benz models, worth hundreds of thousands of dollars combined.

Airport police worked with Atlanta Police Department detectives to track down the stolen vehicles. Several of the cars were recovered in different locations throughout the metropolitan area, according to police reports.

“This was a sophisticated operation that targeted expensive vehicles,” said an airport police spokesperson in a previous statement about the thefts.

Illegal Establishment Discovered

During the vehicle theft investigation, detectives uncovered evidence linking the suspect to an unauthorized bar operation. The establishment was reportedly selling alcoholic beverages without the required city permits and state licenses.

City licensing officials confirmed the location was not registered as a legal alcohol-serving establishment. The bar was operating in violation of multiple municipal codes, including zoning regulations and health department requirements.

Atlanta Police Department’s vice unit assisted in the investigation of the illegal alcohol sales. Officers said the bar had been operating for several months before being discovered.

The case highlights ongoing challenges law enforcement faces with unlicensed businesses operating throughout the city. Similar operations have been shut down in recent months as part of increased enforcement efforts.

Both investigations remain active as authorities work to determine the full scope of both alleged criminal enterprises. The suspect faces multiple felony charges related to the vehicle thefts and additional misdemeanor charges for operating without proper licenses.

Airport officials said they have enhanced security measures at rental car facilities following the theft incidents. Additional surveillance cameras and improved lighting have been installed in parking areas used by rental companies.
