National Weather Service Issues Special Weather Statement for North Central Ohio
Doppler radar tracks line of gusty showers with funnel cloud potential moving east at 30 mph across north central Ohio communities.

MARION, OHIO β The National Weather Service issued a special weather statement Tuesday evening for parts of north central Ohio as Doppler radar tracked gusty showers capable of producing funnel clouds moving eastward at 30 mph.
At 5:25 p.m. EDT, the weather service detected the line of showers extending from Northwood to near West Mansfield, with wind gusts reaching up to 40 mph according to radar data.
Areas Under Weather Statement
The weather statement affects numerous communities across the region. Locations impacted include Marion, Tiffin, Fremont, Fostoria, Bucyrus, Upper Sandusky, Port Clinton, Mount Gilead, Bellevue, Clyde, Northwood, Oak Harbor, Gibsonburg, Genoa, Woodville, Cardington, Forest, Elmore, Green Springs, and Ashley.
The National Weather Service Cleveland office issued the statement at 5:27 p.m. EDT, warning residents that some of the showers could generate funnel clouds as they continue their eastward progression.
Potential Hazards and Impacts
Officials warn that the gusty winds accompanying these showers could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. The radar-indicated wind gusts of up to 40 mph pose risks to outdoor activities and loose items that have not been properly secured.
The weather system’s rapid eastward movement at 30 mph means conditions can change quickly across affected areas. Residents are advised to monitor local weather conditions and take precautions to secure outdoor items that could become projectiles in strong winds.
The special weather statement alerts residents in the impacted communities to remain vigilant as the weather system moves through the region during the evening hours.
