High Winds Expected to Impact Northeast Ohio Through Sunday Morning
Southwest wind gusts up to 50 mph threaten to create hazardous driving conditions and blow unsecured objects around northeast Ohio Sunday morning.

CLEVELAND, OHIO β The National Weather Service issued a special weather statement early Sunday morning warning residents of dangerous wind conditions expected to continue through the morning hours across northeast Ohio.
Southwest wind gusts reaching up to 45 mph are forecast for the region, with very brief and isolated gusts potentially reaching 50 mph, according to the weather service’s Cleveland office. The statement was issued at 3:50 a.m. EDT on Sunday.
Potential Hazards and Safety Concerns
The gusty conditions pose several risks to residents and travelers in the area. Unsecured objects may be blown around by the strong winds, creating potential hazards for people and property.
Driving conditions could become challenging, particularly for operators of high-profile vehicles such as trucks, RVs, and vehicles towing trailers. The weather service warns that brief periods of difficult driving conditions are expected.
Duration and Coverage
The wind advisory affects areas under the jurisdiction of the National Weather Service’s Cleveland office, which covers portions of northeast Ohio. The scattered nature of the wind gusts means some areas may experience stronger conditions than others.
Residents are advised to secure loose outdoor items and exercise caution when driving, especially if operating larger vehicles that are more susceptible to crosswinds. The weather service expects conditions to improve as the morning progresses.
